Junior Erin James (3000m steeplechase) and sophomore Brianna Hunt (long jump) combined for six points as the women's track and field team stands in ninth place after Day 1 of the 2013 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The meet is being held at Charlotte's Irwin Belk Track and Field Center and will resume tomorrow morning at 8:45 a.m.
