Michael Cyphers Highlights Day One Of A-10'sPublished by
Freshman, Michael Cyphers grabbed the spotlight for the Minutemen in the pole vault on day one of the Atlantic 10 Championship in Charlotte, N.C. Cyphers finished third in a tight three-way competition with Kevin Calhoun of Charlotte and Jordan Burandt of URI. The event came down to the final vault, Calhun and Burandt all fouled out and had Cyphers cleared his final attempt of 16-feet, 3-inches he would have been crowned the A-10 Champion. The Lebanon, N.H. native just missed the mark and would settle for the bronze in the meet. The mark also places Cyphers tied for second in the UMass record book.
